Reiki Healing Arts Clinic
for people with cancer and their caregivers
If you or someone you love is facing cancer, Reiki can help.
Whether you’re dealing with the initial diagnosis, preparing or recuperating from surgery, or coping with the side effects and slow recovery that is often a part of chemotherapy and radiation, Reiki treatment supports your body’s healing.
If you’re the caregiver, helping a family member or friend with cancer, it’s hard to find time to care for yourself. Reiki treatment can give you a respite from your worries, replenish your energy, and help you regain perspective.
What is Reiki?
Reiki (ray – key) is a Japanese word meaning “universal life energy.” A trained Reiki practitioner applies this energy through gentle touch for the purpose of healing. Reiki is non-invasive and has no contra-indications.
What is a treatment like?
A Reiki treatment consists of light touch on specific points of the person’s clothed body. In the clinic, a pair of volunteer practitioners work with each client.
Who is doing this and why?
Susan Mitchell from Reiki Healing Arts and local Reiki students and practitioners want to provide support for cancer patients and their caregivers. Reiki students at any level are welcome to volunteer in the clinic.
